Him and I going at in much to our parents delight when boxing gloves were bought. Not because we were fighting just to see who would win. The same gloves were lent to Tom my brother and Kevin Crook and also my sisters.
Oh my goodness. Mark (Crooksie) and I grew up together with his brothers and the Hanrahans on Shady lane. Since elementary school and through hi school, we spent endless great times as our little gang of kids on that street. I am saddened so much to hear about his passing. I hope his life was full after we all separated, and I hope his family are all well. I certainly am so sad of this much to early passing. Sad.
I am devastated by the loss of my cousin who was nine months older then me and grew up across the street from me. He is the reason because of our competitive nature I grew up and did well in my career. It took me until 11th grade that I finally could beat him one on one at times on the driveway hoop. We competed against and with each other all the time. We scored 62 points together out of a total of 68 points our team had in basketball in our senior year against a team with a victory. He and I both scored over 30 points before the 3 point line in that game. We were in so many classes together through Westmere, Junior and Senior High. Summer jobs together, etc. Throughout our lives the memories and laughs of the stuff we did together were comical. I will always miss him, he was more like a brother to me then a cousin. Thank you all for your kind words. We all will miss him and he passed way to early. God bless you Mark.
